Chapter 7 Part III Generations of Noah (Period)

Generations of Noah (Period)

Recently in Generations of Noah (Status) we began our examination of the third meaning of the first definition of “generation.” In that meaning we discovered that in order to qualify as a generation, a group or body of individuals must have a contemporaneous status which each one holds only for a limited period. We also learned that this status is a distinguishing marker which helps to identify each generation in a period. Today, by examining what constitutes and defines a period; specifically a generation‘s period, let us continue this leg of the journey. Let us first begin by dividing and defining ‘period

Definitions (Merriam Webster)
1. Period: (n) 1 : the completion of a cycle, a series of events, or a single action 6 a : a portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon b (1) : the interval of time required for a cyclic motion or phenomenon to complete a cycle and begin to repeat itself 7 a : a chronological division : STAGE b : a division of geologic time longer than an epoch and included in an era c : a stage of culture having a definable place in time and space

From the divided definitions we can see that a period is defined by the completion of a cycle, a series of events, or a single action, a portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon, the interval of time required for a cyclic motion or phenomenon to complete a cycle and begin to repeat itself, a chronological division, a stage, a division of geologic time longer than an epoch and included in an era and a stage of culture having a definable place in time and space.

Through the examination of these meanings, One should notice a common denominator which helps to determine or define a period. All periods of human existence are marked by some tangible or observable action, event, or phenomenon. Now, since all periods are marked by some observable facts or events, let us define 'phenomenon' to receive a clearer understanding.

2. Phenomenon: (n) 1 plural phenomena : an observable fact or event 2 plural phenomena a : an object or aspect known through the senses rather than by thought or intuition b : a temporal or spatiotemporal object of sensory experience as distinguished from a noumenon c : a fact or event of scientific interest susceptible to scientific description and explanation 3 a : a rare or significant fact or event b plural phenomenons : an exceptional, unusual, or abnormal person, thing, or occurrence

By examining the meanings of ‘phenomenon’ One should now see what is contained within all periods. All periods have an object or aspect known through the senses rather than by thought or intuition (Phenomenon 2a), a temporal or spatiotemporal object of sensory experience as distinguished from a noumenon (Phenomenon 2b), a fact or event of scientific interest susceptible to scientific description and explanation (Phenomenon 2c), a rare or significant fact or event (Phenomenon 3a), and an exceptional, unusual, or abnormal person, thing, or occurrence (Phenomenon 3b), .

In Genesis 6:11, One will find part of the tangible or observable phenomena which will define the period of Noah. (Genesis 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence). In that verse Believers will see the observable events of 'corruption' and 'violence.' Let us now define ‘corrupt’ and ‘violence’ so that we may see what actions will define Noah's period.

3. Corrupt: (adj) 1 a : morally degenerate and perverted : DEPRAVED b : characterized by improper conduct (as bribery or the selling of favors) *corrupt judges* 2 : PUTRID, TAINTED3 : adulterated or debased by change from an original or correct condition *a corrupt version of the text*synonyms see VICIOUS

4. Violence: 1 a : exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse (as in warfare effecting illegal entry into a house) b : an instance of violent treatment or procedure 2 : injury by or as if by distortion, infringement, or profanation : OUTRAGE 3 a : intense, turbulent, or furious and often destructive action or force *the violence of the storm* b : vehement feeling or expression : FERVOR; also : an instance of such action or feeling c : a clashing or jarring quality : DISCORDANCE 4 : undue alteration (as of wording or sense in editing a text)

During the generations of Noah’s period, the earth is filled with tangible observable flagrant corruption and violence. From the meanings of corrupt we can see that at this time, the earth is morally degenerate, perverted, and depraved (corrupt 1a), characterized by improper conduct (as bribery or the selling of favors) (corrupt 1b), putrid, tainted (corrupt 2), and adulterated or debased by change from an original or correct condition (corrupt 3). And also, from the meanings of violence we see that during this period there is observable tangible flagrant exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse (as in warfare effecting illegal entry into a house) (violence 1a), an instance of violent treatment or procedure (violence 1b), injury by or as if by distortion, infringement, or profanation, outrage (violence 2), intense, turbulent, or furious and often destructive action or force (violence 3a), vehement feeling or expression, fervor (violence 3b), clashing or jarring qualities, discordance (violence 3c), and undue alteration (as of wording or sense in editing a text) (violence 4) .

Each period of a different generation is marked by some observable or visible fact or phenomena. This phenomena may include anything from an exceptional invention to an unusual, or abnormal person, or event. The periods of the early 1900’s where marked by such phenomena as WWI, WWII, the Great Depression, the atomic bomb, and Hitler.

This period of the generations of Noah is also marked by visible phenomena. During this period there will unparalleled corruption, violence and also an abnormal person who people have been expecting. Take note, because this abnormal person is the individual who is called the anti-Christ. If One looks, through the WORD, they will see that he is at the center of the corruption, violence and bribery that is visible during this time.

Finally, this period of corruption and violence is very necessary. It is more important than many have come to realise. This is because, the conditions or circumstances of a period help to determine the status of the generations who are existing, occurring, or originating at that time. Therefore, without the corruption and violence of this time the LORD would be unable to determine the generations of Noah.

Chapter 7 Part II Generations of Noah (Status)

Generations of Noah (Status)

Gen. 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Recently in Generations of Noah (Body) we embarked on our search to discover who or what Noah is. In that first leg of the journey we discovered that through misinterpretation, there has been a misunderstanding of Gen 6:9 (These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God). By closely examining its first two meanings, we have found out that a ‘generation’ is comprised of more than one lone individual. A generation is made up of a body, group, mass, aggregate, of individuals who are existing, occurring, or originating during the same time. This information has then informed us that Noah or the generations of Noah is made up of a body, group, mass, aggregate, of individuals who are present during the same times: specifically the end times. Now, today let us continue to investigate this group of individuals by examining the third meaning in the first definition of “generation.”

Definitions (Merriam Webster)
1. Generation: (n) 1 a : a body of living beings constituting a single step in the line of descent from an ancestor b : a group of individuals born and living contemporaneously c : a group of individuals having contemporaneously a status (as that of students in a school) which each one holds only for a limited period d : a type or class of objects usually developed from an earlier type *first of the new generation of powerful supersonic fighters — Kenneth Koyen*

In the third meaning of the first definition of ‘generation,’ we can see that the generations of Noah is also: a group of individuals having contemporaneously a status which each one holds only for a limited period. In order to clearly understand these meanings, let us define and rightly divide the key words of ‘contemporaneous,’ ‘status,’ and ‘period

2. Contemporaneous : (adj) : existing, occurring, or originating during the same time synonyms see CONTEMPORARY

3. Status: (n) 1 a : position or rank in relation to others *the status of a father* b : relative rank in a hierarchy of prestige; especially : high prestige 2 : the condition of a person or thing in the eyes of the law 3 : state or condition with respect to circumstances *the status of the negotiations*

4. Period: (n) 6 a : a portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon b (1) : the interval of time required for a cyclic motion or phenomenon to complete a cycle and begin to repeat itself

After dividing and defining ‘contemporaneous’ ‘status’ and ‘period’ we can clearly understand the that another qualification for generation is that;
A. A group of individuals must have a position or rank in relation to others (status 1a) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a) .

B. A group of individuals must have a relative rank in a hierarchy of prestige (status 1b) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a).

C. A group of individual must be in a certain condition in the eyes of the law (status 2) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a).

D. A group of individual must be in a state or condition with respect to circumstances (status 3) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a).

This means that while existing, occurring, or originating during the same time, a group of individuals who comprise a “generation” will be in the same position, state, or condition in relation to others, in the eyes of the law, and in respects to a particular state of affairs or circumstance for a certain portion of time. For example: The generation of Americans who were born during the times of 1901-1924 are generally known as the G. I. Generation or the Greatest Generation. In terms of their rank of prestige (status 1b), they are highly honored and esteemed, hence the name Greatest Generation. Their state or condition with respect to circumstances (status 3) was determined and held during those periods of The Great Depression and World War II. During those circumstances, their state or condition (status 3) was that of community, bravery, determination and willingness to sacrifice.

If One will study generations, they will notice that with each successive generation, status declines. The newer generations will be weaker or more corrupt than their predecessors. This can be seen with the generations which succeeded the GI Generation. These generations state or condition were not formed by the troubles of the Great Depression and World War II. Since, this is the case, if One examines those generations, they will see a big difference in their position, or rank in relation to their predecessors. One will also see a difference in their relative rank in a hierarchy of prestige, condition in the eyes of the law, and state or condition with respect to circumstances. These generations are not considered as brave, determined, willing to sacrifice, or dedicated to community as that previous generation.

Finally, all generations have markers which distinguish them. These markers are determined by that generation’s condition in the eyes of the law, the state or condition of that group with respect to circumstances, and position or rank in relation to others during a limited period. As time continues each successive generation will corrupt or decay and their position or status will be worst than the previous. The generations of Noah are no different. They also have distinguishable markers which they will hold for a limited period. Their status will be determined by all of the qualifications which are used to measure all the generations of the earth for that time.

Ecclesiastes 1:4 [One] generation passeth away, and [another] generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

Luke 16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

Chapter 7 Part I Generations of Noah (Body)

Generations of Noah (Body)

Gen. 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Who or what is Noah? When or where did he exist? To fully understand the end times and its significance, these questions must be accurately and completely answered. Without a correct identification of Noah, One will continue to remain in complete darkness with regards to the times in which they live. Therefore, let us embark on a journey to discover who Noah is and what he teaches us.

As we have previously mentioned in Contamination by Assumptions, having the wrong assumption is akin to having a dangerous and cancerous disease. Without cure it will spread and eventually lead to the destruction of the whole body. Since the Holy Scripture is connected and interwoven, one wrong assumption can lead to the distortion and contamination of the whole message.

This will shatter many beliefs, but contrary to popular speculations, Noah was not a single individual. Rather Noah is used symbolically to represent a succession of generations who occupy a space of time during a certain period of man’s existence. This period of time is known today by many as the end times.

The confusion about Noah’s identity stems from a couple of reasons, but the main cause can be found in the careless interpretations of the Holy Scripture. In Noah’s case one of the most obvious misinterpretations can be found in Gen. 6:9 (These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God). If One will notice, in that verse the word “generation” is plural. This is done in an attempt to alert the Believer to the fact that the story of Noah is not dealing with one out of a single generation. Instead it is referring to One, out of multiple generations. In order to comprehend this, there are a couple of things we must first realise. Let us first define and rightly divide “generation”

What many have done in the process of studying Noah is to automatically equate and limit 'generation' to; the average span of time between the birth of parents and that of their offspring. From the definitions we can see that a generation encompasses more than that. Let us begin by examining the first definition.

In the first definition, we see that a 'generation' also refers to: a body of living beings constituting a single step in the line of descent from an ancestor. To understand this definition, One must first realise what constitutes a 'body.' Let us therefore define and divde“body.”

2. Body: (n) 3 a : a mass of matter distinct from other masses *a body of water* *a celestial body* b : something that embodies or gives concrete reality to a thing; also : a sensible object in physical space c : AGGREGATE, QUANTITY *a body of evidence*5 : a group of persons or things: as a : a fighting unit : FORCE b : a group of individuals organized for some purpose *a legislative body*

From the definition we see that a 'body' includes: a mass of matter distinct from other masses, something that embodies or gives concrete reality to a thing, a sensible object in physical space, aggregate, quantity, group of persons or things, or a group of individuals organized for some purpose. With these additional definitions we shold now realise that there are many other bodies in this world besides the human body. There is the family body, world body, bodies of believers, legislative bodies, bodies of evidence, governing bodies, etc… And all of these bodies have a common denominator; they are all made up of more than one person or thing, but yet they are still considered to be one.

What Believers must now realise is that God is a God of body, group or family. Contrary to what many may have come to see him as, God does not look highly upon individualism. In everything that he does, it is always for the progression, betterment, and survival of the group or world family. In his eyes the individual is not more important than the whole (Matt. 5:29). This is one of the main themes that can be found in Jesus’ sacrifice. Jesus wasn’t sacrificed to save an individual or an individual nation; he was sacrificed so that there might be salvation and resurrection for the whole body.

Now, when we look at Noah we see the story of that sacrifice in respects to God saving a certain type of body, group, mass, aggregate, of living beings constituting a single step in the line of descent from an ancestor (generation 1a). This body is a group or a mass of matter or individuals who are distinct from other masses, or groups (body 3a). And this body is a group of individuals organized for some purpose (body3b). In other words, for his purpose, during a certain period God saves a distinct group or body of individuals out of all the other groups or bodies of individuals which inhabit the earth.

As we look at the second definition we find another qualification for generation. It is found in the word 'contemporaneous' Let us now define this word.

3. Contemporaneous : (adj) : existing, occurring, or originating during the same time synonyms see CONTEMPORARY

After defining 'contemporaneous' we see that in order to qualify as a generation a body, group, mass, aggregate, must be existing, occurring, or originating during the same time. This means that a group of individuals who comprise a “generation” must have real being, and be present at the same time. And this time in reference to the generations of Noah, would be the end times.

As we pointed out in Representations, when studying, One must remember that the Holy Scripture is rife with symbolism. It is one of its fundamental characteristics. Finally, when an individual becomes involved in any group, they become part of a larger body. The two entities merge and become One. Therefore the purposes, and goals of that body also becomes that of the individual. So, Noah was not a lone individual; rather he is symbolic of a distinct group, or mass of individuals on the earth who are organized for the same purpose or God’s purpose. And because of certain qualifications which they all share, they are seen by God as a One body or person, hence the name Noah.

The Truth can be a bitter pill to swallow, but its healing powers are immeasurable

1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.

1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
