Chapter 3 Part III Contamination By Assumptions

Contamination By Assumptions

Previously in The Illusions of Assumptions we introduced you to the biggest factor in Israel’s past and current blindness. We showed you how their assumptions had prevented them from correctly identifying the Messias. These assumptions had created illusions which were so strong that they were almost impenetrable. They had helped to shape and distort Israel’s current worldview, and mental image of Messias.

Believers must begin to comprehend the power that lies in one’s assumptions. Assumptions are not mere trivialities. One’s assumption has the ability to control and direct his movements, actions, and reactions. They are very powerful and life controlling human bridles. In the wrong hands they can be used to guide people to death and destruction.

To have the wrong assumption is akin to having a dangerous and cancerous disease. Without correction and cure, it will eventually spread and lead to self -destruction. And like a disease an assumption also has stages of progression. If it is caught in the early stages, it is curable, if caught in the later stages, it is almost incurable. Let us examine how one gets contaminated, and the stages of an Assumptions progression. Let us first define Assumption

Definitions (Merriam Webster)
1. Assumption: (n) 2 : a taking to or upon oneself *the assumption of a new position*3 : the act of laying claim to or taking possession of something *the assumption of power* 4 : ARROGANCE, PRETENSION 5 a : an assuming that something is true b : a fact or statement (as a proposition, axiom, postulate, or notion) taken for granted 6 : the taking over of another's debts

As you may see from the definitions, in order to be infected by the wrong Assumption, one must first take possession of it. Or you may say that one must assume the wrong Assumption as truth or true. If you are of age, an Assumption is not something that is forced upon you. An individual has the ability to think, reason, and conduct their own research, before accepting an Assumption as truth. For Believers, it is their responsibility and duty to study and weigh the information that is brought before them (2Tim 2:15). The walk with God demands it.

In this early stage of infection an individual is still questioning the validity of that wrong Assumption. Therefore this is the best stage to present evidence which will help to eradicate it. If no evidence is presented in order to rebut the Assumption, it will then enter the next stage.
The severity of the next stage of infection depends on the environment and the individual‘s attitude. Through continued socialization and association, the individual will begin to internalise the Assumption. This means that because of surrounding influence, the individual begins to incorporate or adapt this “truth” into their person. After all of the continued internalization, they will become a product of that environment.

Now this stage is a very critical one. If there is no intervention before or during this point, the individual or individuals will become hardened and almost impossible to cure. Also the individual’s attitude will play a big role in this stage. If the individual is a person who has a relatively humble attitude, then the full affects of the contamination will be minimized.

If you will look at the definition again, you will see the word Arrogance. Let us also define Arrogance so that we may see its significance and its Assumptive relation.

2. Arrogance: (n) : an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions

From the definition we can see that one of the physical manifestations of Arrogance is presumptuous claims or Assumptions. This then tells us that those who cling to false Assumptions will tend to be overly Arrogant or Prideful. This Arrogance or Pride will not allow them to back down from their false claims. As we have stated before in I See Therefore I Know, Pride is one of the dispositions or mindsets which blocks one from receiving revelation.
After the individual or individuals have been in the second stage for any considerable amount of time, they will not listen to the voice of reason. Their world may crumble or fall around them, but they will not let go. They have taken hold of their Assumptions, and Pride and Arrogance will not allow these individuals to let them go. Arrogance and Pride are the main reasons why many of the Pharisees were unable to accept Christ. And these are also the main reasons why many today have succeeded in repeating that mistake.

Now let us clarify a couple of things, so as not to confuse you. To make an assumption does not automatically mean that someone is arrogant. If you will look at the definition you will see that assumption is plural. This then tells us that one who continuously makes or who continuously clings to wrong assumptions or presumptuous claims is arrogant. To make one wrong assumption is to be expected. But to continuously make wrong assumptions and to cling to them especially when the evidence says otherwise is a sign of Arrogance. It is abnormal and it is very dangerous

Finally the most dangerous thing about a false Assumption is the control that it generates. In the wrong hands it can be used for manipulation and mind control. Many people have been victims of this and are still unaware of it. This is a type of craft or art which very few people have knowledge of (Dan 8:25). A wrong Assumption can be manipulated to elicit a number of emotions or reactions. For example, A person can control you and your actions if they are aware of the fact that you have assumed that your neighbor is dangerous. With a few calculated comments or actions, they can control your emotions and manner of living. With certain provocations they can increase your hate and apathy towards that neighbor. With other provocations they can even move you to kill him or her.

In the Scriptures there are many verses which warn against pride and wrong assumptions. For to walk with God, one must be willing to learn and accept the truth, no matter how bitter. Pride and Arrogance will not allow you to do that. One cannot walk after the imaginations of their heart. One cannot afford to live in a land of make-believe. One cannot afford to assume that they are on the right side of God and therefore no evil will befall them. One better know before one begins to make such presumptuous claims ands assumptions. For as Hebrews 10:31 states: “[It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

The Truth can be a bitter pill to swallow, but its healing powers are immeasurable

Jeremiah 23:17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Isaiah 13:11 And I will punish the world for [their] evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Obadiah 1:3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation [is] high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

Chapter 3 Part II The Assumption Of Paul

The Assumption of Paul

In the Illusions of Assumptions, we found out that the illusions created by their assumptions was the biggest factor in the disciples inability to know Messias. Out of all of his disciples, only Peter was able to correctly identify him when questioned. Now these disciples were not the only ones who became victims of their own assumptions. There was another prophet in the New Testament who was guilty of falling to the illusions of assumptions. He also became a product of his environment

The prophet Paul became a victim of Israel’s assumptions. These assumptions led him to advocate and participate in the murder of Believers during his time. He truly had come to believe that they were worshipping another God and were therefore evil. This is what he had been taught. This is what his teachers had led him to believe. He had been deceived by those old fables and doctrines which were being promulgated by the so called scholars. He thought that he new and understood God. He thought that he was doing God service. He thought that his cause was just. He did not know that he was killing his own family. By killing those believers Paul fulfilled a prophecy which is also being fulfilled in today‘s world. John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. Paul did not realize his mistake until he was blinded while on his way to kill more Believers.

After his conversion Paul became very aware of the illusions that fables and false doctrines can produce. He was very aware of how your assumptions can become a very powerful tool for the wicked. He was aware of how they can be used to control and manipulate the masses. This is why he tries to warn future Believers in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.) and Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Paul new that future Believers were bound to make the same assumptions and therefore make the same mistakes. He himself had been captivated by many of these fables. He himself had taught them to other people.

Now let us take a look at one of today’s biggest assumption, and let us see how it creates an almost impenetrable field of illusion. A majority of the end time assumptions are predicated on this fable of rapture. Many believers have come to believe that the tribulation cannot start, the Final Great Gentile Leader (Anti-Christ) will not come to power, and Messias will not arrive until certain Believers have disappeared magically into the clouds. You cannot even begin to fathom the amount of damage this assumption has created. Without your realisation, this fable has succeeded in creating a huge sense of complacency and a false sense of security amongst those who claim to believe. Just think about it; If you are not going to be here for the tribulation, why should you make preparations? Why should you look for the Messias? Why should you look for that Gentile Leader (Antichrist)?

This theory of course is promulgated and promoted by those in power. They use it to sell books and to make their filthy money, while those who are seduced are being prepared for the slaughter (Isaiah 65:12, Jeremiah 50:27 ). It is a feel good story, and a doctrine which appeals to the vanity of many. It tickles the ears and makes many believe that one day that all of their problems will disappear as they head into the clouds. It has been used to convince many of their own righteousness and goodness. After all they are special. Everyone else must suffer through hardship and pain, but not them. They are better than Noah, Lot, Daniel, Paul, and all of the other prophets who had to suffer through their days of tribulation.

Unfortunately today’s Believers have succeeded in repeating Israel and Paul’s past mistakes. They have formed an image of God, Messias, and the world based on false assumptions. These false assumptions are now embedded in their doctrines and therefore in their psyches. They have succeeded in creating an alternate world that does not match God’s present reality. And in the process they have become the enemies of the LIVING GOD. Everything has changed. Because of these assumptions they have embraced the evil and eschewed the good. They have corrupted their ways and in the process have sealed their destinies. Woe unto them for good is now considered evil and evil is now considered good! Woe unto them whose hearts have hardened, for they refuse to change course and they refuse to repent! Woe unto them whose filthy imaginations have led them to follow after false gods! Woe unto them who hate the truth and love the lie!

The Kingdom of God is coming into being even as we write. It is suffering violently but it will grow and it will consume all other kingdoms. Woe unto those who have tried to stop it!

“The Truth can be a bitter pill to swallow, but its healing powers are immeasurable”

“The Two Books Are One”

Malachi 2:17 Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied [him]? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil [is] good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where [is] the God of judgment?

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Jeremiah 4:22 For my people [is] foolish, they have not known me; they [are] sottish children, and they have none understanding: they [are] wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Jeremiah 13:10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

Psalms 38:20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow [the thing that] good [is].

Chapter 3 Part I The Illusions of Assumptions

The Illusions of Assumptions

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples a very simple question, (Matthew 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?) Strangely, only Peter was able to correctly identify him. Today we want to explore the similarities between Christ’s first coming and his second coming.

We can see that believers around the world have made some very important mistakes regarding Messias’ arrival. We must always remember that the Bible is a book of patterns. God does not change, and man has only changed for the worse. If you have studied Christ’s first arrival, it would not be hard to notice that Israel had no idea who he was or is . Even his closest disciples only considered him to be a prophet, or one of the old-time prophets. Only Peter through the Holy Spirit when asked was able to correctly identify him.

This is where the biggest questions arises; Why and How? Why only Peter? Why didn’t they know and how could they have missed Him? Why were they not able to identify him? After all they ate with him, drank with him, slept with him, and talked with him. They watched him heal the sick, raise the dead, feed the hungry, and cast out demons, yet they missed it. Previously in I See Therefore I Know we presented to you the factors which are involved when it comes to receiving revelation from God. Today we shall present to you the biggest factor in Israel’s past and current blindness.

We present to you that even though the disciples were a witness to all of these great events, they were under the Illusions of Assumptions. Let’s take a look at the definitions for Illusion and Assumption.

Definitions Merriam Webster
1. Illusion: (n) 1 a obsolete: the action of deceiving b (1): the state or fact of being intellectually deceived or misled: MISAPPREHENSION (2): an instance of such deception 2 a (1): a misleading image presented to the vision (2): something that deceives or misleads intellectually b (1): perception of something objectively existing in such a way as to cause misinterpretation of its actual nature

2. Assumption: (n) 4 : ARROGANCE, PRETENSION 5 a: an assuming that something is true b: a fact or statement (as a proposition, axiom, postulate, or notion) taken for granted

We must understand that over the years, the Jewish people had built up their own images of how the Messias first coming would unfold. Let me remind you that all of these images were built up by assumptions, unsound doctrines and fables. Let’s take a close look at some of these assumptions.

A. They had assumed that the Messias would not come from Galilee. John 7:40-41 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? John 7:52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. They were all wrong. The Pharisees who were in positions of power, were either purposely lying to discredit Jesus, or they were not as learned as they claimed to be. If the people would have studied, they would have seen that Jonah the prophet came from Galilee. Also they had overlooked the fact that God has the right to raise up prophets from wherever He chooses. They did not understand just as many don’t understand today that God does not discriminate because of ones region.

B. The second assumption that contributed to Israel’s blindness can be found in Matthew 17:10-13 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
You see the people and the disciples had assumed that there would be a physical reappearing of Elijah to mark the coming of the Lord. They did not grasp that the second coming of Elijah was spiritual and that it was fulfilled by John the Baptist. John had the same spiritual make-up as Elijah so he in essence was Elijah. This is not what they were taught. Everyone was expecting to see Elijah coming down from the sky in the fiery chariot before Messias‘ arrival. Since they did not see this they assumed that this could not have possibly been the Messias.

C. The third assumption that contributed to their blindness can be found in (Mark 8:31-32 and Acts 1:6)And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and [of] the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. Acts 1:6: When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?)
Jewish doctrine had taught them that the Messias was coming to restore the kingdom of Israel, but it failed to teach them that this process would be completed in two stages. They had no idea that his arrival was part of a two part fulfillment. They were never taught that Messias was to first be rejected, suffer, and then be crucified. This is why Peter began to rebuke Messias in Mark 8:32. Since Christ did not come in and grab power in the way they had assumed, they discredited him.

These three doctrines which were formed and based on false assumptions, helped to shape and distort Israel’s mental image of the Messias. They also helped to shape and distort their worldview. Once these mental images or assumptions were impressed into the minds of the people, they were hard to remove. Those who were in power used these powerful assumptions to control and provoke the people. The same thing has happened today. These same assumptions have been impressed into the mind of believers. They assume that Messias will come riding on a white vaporous cloud. They assume that they will not be on the earth during the times of trouble. They assume that they are the only ones who will escape. They assume that the Man of Sin must come from the Middle East. While they are blinded by the illusions created by these assumptions, the Man of Sin is here, the tribulation has already started, they are still here unprepared, and Messias has come.

The Truth can be a bitter pill to swallow, but its healing powers are immeasurable
